there was a baby crested gecko that had a shed issue and a ring that looked just like that around its tail closer to the base at our petco, and my manager let me take it home overnight to work off the shed. after several soaks, q-tip and micro-tweezer treatments, i was able to remove an actual ring of dead skin from around the point of constriction. it left what appeared to be scar tissue, or at least there was no "epidermis" (not sure what that's called in reptile skin). it did not appear to be infected and the tail was still alive and didn't drop. i had to return it to the store and was going to purchase it later because i had grown fond of it, it was so mellow and cooperative during its treatments, but someone beat me to it, so i don't know what became of its tail in the long run. =(



if you are comfortable handling your little one and it's cooperative enough, you can attempt to remove the constricting skin, otherwise you can either let it run its course and the end will probably die and fall off, or you can have the vet clip the tail right above the ring and give you some silvadene cream to put on the wound until it heals. either way, it will have a round nub and short tail, or it will drop altogether. it doesn't look infected at the moment, just keep an eye on it.



oh and on your other pic about the missing toes, it looks like it still has little nubs on the front right foot so it should be fine.
