LOL, I have so many herps that if I tried to put them all outside, I'd have no backyard and very concerned neighbors. I don't consider it 'mean' to keep my tegus indoors. My large female is in the garage where it is considerable warmer anyway. All my animals have proper lighting with proper temps, and are in properly sized enclosures.

'Mean' is such a subjective word...if my tegu gets a fair amount of free roaming time and someone else's does not because they have to go to work during the day, is that mean? This tegu of mine was in an outdoor cage growing up, but kept on concrete until she had no nails, fed dog food and table scraps, undersized, and had a broken tail...that's mean...I'm not mean.
