i have a well established(2 yrs) backyard pond, roughly 12"long,and ranging from 6' -3' across.it has 2 drag-out islands.my backyard is mostly clay, under the roughly3" of top-soil.until recently,i havn't had much problems with cloudy water, due to the filters and plants in the pond.lately, though,i've had a real issue with clay run-off from ythe rest of the yard turning the pond into a big mud-puddle.is there anything that i can add to the water to encourage the clay to settle, that is non-toxic?i've heard that small bales of hay can get the pond to settle, but i want some second opinions.thanks!
