My son has 2 RES about 2 1/2 years old. They need a bigger home. I was thinking about building a pond in the back yard for them. We live in southern California. Summer highs are 110 and winter lows are 25. I was going to build up with contrete blocks about 3 feet high 6' X 8' then fill with dirt and put a Home Depot type pond complete with a fountain and filter. Put stacks of rocks in pond for basking and exit from the pond for land acsess. Also after complete cover with chicken wire fence for protection from the local hawks. What do you think? The turtles are about 8-10 inches in diameter
