I work at a facility that is using Verilux full spectrum bulbs to light our exhibits. We are also dusting our fruit flies/crickets with a 1.1 ration of Calcium fortified with D3 and multivitamin powder by rep-cal. My question is about the bulbs and if they provide enough UV for the animals to synthesize their own D3?The bulb model is Verilux Instant Sun with Phosphor3 15 watt 18". The specs I recieved from the company is that it puts out 6% UV light, 90% of which is UVA, 10% UVB. If anyone can help with these numbers, I would greatly appreciate it.
