>>Hello all. I am new to this board and have gotten a lot of help just by reading the posts. I still have one qusetion though. I currrently have a 24x24x24 aquarium that I plal on turning into a terrarium and housing tiger leg monkey frogs. In my searches for research on them, I have found that some come from Africa and some from South America. Is there a difference in climate. housing needs, etc.? Also, what are the differences in the two? I want to set up a tropical environment and don"t want to put the frogs in the wrong environment. Thanks for the help.>>
The monkey frogs belong in the genus Phyllomedusa. They are found only in Central and South America, not in Africa. These are tropical species that are often found in arid to semi-arid environments. It is best to keep them nice and warm and give them a water dish to sit in when they feel like it, and best to keep the cage dry otherwise without excessive misting.
