My husband found a juvenile turle (about the size of a quarter) on our drive way on June 12th. We are pretty sure it is a RES as it has the typical red markings by the ears. However, the shell is more brownish red, different from a typical RES's shell. Can anyone help us identify or confirm what kind of turtle it is? (Sorry if the pictures aren't super clear.) Also, since we found him, he has had no interest in eating. Is this ok? It's been a week and 3 days. Thanks! P.S. I have a painted I found a little over a year ago about the same size but started eating right away.
