One of these days I will get around to posting some new pictures I swear!
Anyhow, I have a question for anyone who is experienced in breeding Dumeril's Boas:
My Dum has visible spurs, so I hear that means it is a male... but he has been laying on his side lately in his cage, which looks & sounds an awful lot like what the Ball Python folks refer to as "building" in females. I don't think he is sick at all, as he only seems to roll onto his side when he is relaxing in his cage; when he wants to move around, he moves normally, has very good muscle tone, and no other signs of illness.
My best guess is that maybe he is doing this when he wants to cool down a little (though when I check temps he is in the mid-to-low 80's). The temps in the house have been fluctuating a lot lately - it's an old house and not very efficient.... Otherwise, does this sound like something a female Dum would do?
