I've been incubating a clutch of softshell eggs. They were laid on April 14 in my girlfriend's back yard. Today is Day 70 - I'm pretty well versed on how to incubate them, I've done it before but it was a long time ago.... the temperature and humidity are both correct.

They're showing, very clearly, a very white side and a dark half. This wasn't there before, so I'm assuming that's the embryo growing. Isn't 70 days around the time I should expect them to hatch? I was wondering if this was, in fact, the sign I should be looking for, or if there's something else I should be able to detect that will tell me they're about to hatch ....

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
