I agree with the above posts, but would add two things to be aware of when collecting fish:

1. Many states consider bluegill and crappie gamefish and have minimum lengths and/or creel limits, so be sure to obey these rules.

2. Be sure not to use fish from waters with human consumption advisories due to pollution; these fish may cause illness or death in your turtle.
