Well my filter as of now is a cpl different size buckets and a pile of plumbing. I think I'm gonna go with a 30gal barrel with the pot scrubby things for media.A women in the pond section was telling me thats what she's used for over 20 yrs in all her DIY filters for her koi ponds.Using the bucket the water will come in from the bottom and out of the top, so instead of just looking at a return hose I figured while I'm at it go for a waterfall just for looks.And it's good filtration when alge builds up.
