Probably DOES mean they think you always have food, and are checking you out by licking to make sure that YOU aren't food! LOL However, they are friendly curious animals just like the Chucks, and will put their heads out of their crevisses to see who you are and what you are up to. This is why they get caught! I have, over many years time, had Chuckwallas and DIs that were docile and friendly the day they were caught! And I have had some CB babies that were feisty biters from the day they hatched and didn't give it up for three years! I once had a wild caught male, Whitney, who would steam across the carpet when he saw me enter the room and stand on his hind legs ON TOP OF MY FEET like a little Tyrannasaurus, balanced on his tail, and he was so trusting, he'd eat yellow kleenex if I offered it. (I never did let him eat the kleenex, of course).
