What kind of frog/toad did i catch?

Well I was out in the backyard walking my yorkie and all of a sudden i see something jump in the grass near the porch. I looked down and it was a beautiful frog so i got a container and he jumped right in. What kind of frog is it and if it helps i live in the south. When i put grass and soil in his container he immediately buried him self in there. Also what does he eat?
