Ponds are great. At some point I'd like to put one in and keep it as simple as possible (too many hobbies as it is). For now, I'm working on putting in a deck and will build in a 55 gallon stock tank to turn into a pond for my spotted turtle. I'm looking forward to that, but since it probably won't be until late August till the deck's done, I'm considering waiting to move the spotted outside until next spring, just so she can get a full year under her belt before she hibernates for the first time. I don't think it would be wise to take her from her constant 72 degree tank into 100 degree-plus weather.
