Ok, after I saved Clyde (see other post), the darn frogs laid a bunch more eggs in the dogs 'kiddie' pool. This time it was in the pool that got full sun.



I noticed the tadpoles swimming around Friday, July 11th, scooped them into a temporary container Saturday and had them residing in a 20 gallon aquarium on Sunday, July 13th. They started out all about the same size, although some were a lighter brown color instead of real dark.



They have a filter which is netted so they don't get sucked into the filter and it runs when I'm home, two aquatic plants and I feed them frozen lettuce and bottom feeder fish food. I know I probably have too many in the one tank, but that is all I can do at the moment. They were doing relatively well. The filter keeps the tank almost clear.



I lost some when they wiggled too deep into the gravel, but up until this weekend most were okay. I've notice many are now about twice as large as the others, and the large ones have a round ball-like area on their underside. There are less light brown ones, but some of them have grown bigger too. The little ones are still holding their own, for the most part - but I have noticed those that die are the small ones.



All the tadpoles will nibble at the ones that show up floating dead -- should I take these out?



I'm not sure what is causing the size difference (could there be more than one species in there?) or why some of them are just dying.



They are too small for a good detailed picture, but any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. These guys are so cool!
