Water snake upstate ny

I live in the catskill mountains, upstate ny. This snake has been burrowing under my pond for 2 years now. I just assume its a northern water snake It doesnt seem to bother my red-eared slider or the 2 huge, ever-surviving gold fish turned into koi !
