I found some pics of the snake from last year, with the turtle.

Last year I was putting feeder gold fish in the pond for the turtle and I assume the snake was wiping them out. All except the 2 giant goldfish that are still surviving. I take the gold fish and the turtle in for the winter and put them back out there in spring. I have not put any other fish in the pond since. We do have alot of frogs around here, as well as other snakes I assume are garters...they are green with a yellow stripe and they are in the grass in the back yard. I wonder if she eats other snakes ? I didnt think the snake was there this year, I didnt see her all summer, though I did see the holes. I actually saw baby snakes come out at first about a month ago and I just assumed they all went down the stream that is across the road. But, for about 3 weeks now the snake has been in the water or basking everyday so I guess she isnt going the way of the stream anytime soon. During the winter I drain the pond and cover it with plywood to keep the snow out and there is about an 8 inch space that collects leaves and such I guess insulate her pretty well. So far she hasnt bothered me so I dont bother her...and yeah it is pretty cool
