There is a good chance that the animals you may have purchased are either wild caught or have been kept together to grow them out.
Females will also ovulate due to the approximation to a male as well. The issue is that if they are young, you will need to make sure you get plenty of calcium to the females. Offer a dish of calcium and really dust the insects you are feeding.
