CONGRATS on the Dum!!

I wouldn't handle the snake very much for the first couple of weeks. With it only being a week old you can stress it pretty easily. In all honestly you should have bought a baby that had already shed at least once and fed a couple of times. It is always risky buying any kind of baby snake that hasn't shed and fed yet.

I would limit handling to just the amount of time it takes to remove the snake from the cage for cleaning and then putting it back in. A couple of minutes tops, until it has shed and fed a couple of times.
