If the shell sheds you will see the results in the water. With the skin you might see skin shreds on the turtles neck and legs but if you have proper filtration you wont find it in the water. With the turtle being in the water most of the time it will just basically melt off leaving little evidence of shed. As long as the turtle is active feeding and growing there should be no concern.
