I've had water dragons for over six years now, and been breeding for two. I do shorten their light periods, and take down their temps a few degrees for about 4-6 weeks during the winter to get them ready for the breeding period.

Last year, one of my big males Wilbur started escaping and hiding out under the furniture, to sleep for 2-5 days at a time. I always find him and put him back in the viv. This year, I just let him freeroam alot and he seems content to sleep on the arm of the furthest chair, tucked away from the activity in the living room. He is four and a half now.

This year, I notice his brother Orville sleeping in his hide for a couple of days, then coming out and basking and running around for a few hours, then back to the hide.

I know cwd's do not do a true brumation, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience or information about it? Thanks!
