They will mostly stay near the ground in the beginning. Since they sense heat, when he needs it he'll be out to find a heat source, thats your cue. Try losing a monitor, its crazy! They actually want to get lost, haha. Look for snake crap and stuff. Oh yeah, another trick I do sometimes is, imagine yourself as the animal. Where would you go.
