We have received a Mali Uro at a petstore and it was an adult when we received it. Don't know definite age. It wasn't eating well, so we took it to the vet who said it tested positive for pinworms and roundworms. It is being treated for these with a wormer for four weeks, once a week. The vet also has us force feeding it a veggie paste diet. The animal doesn't respond well to the feeding and is mostly lethargic during the day even with proper temps. Seems like it's still dehydrated, but we give it Nutrilyte at least twice daily and bath it also. What else might help this lizard? Could the force feeding be hurting her? Do uromastyxs bruminate like beardies do? My adult beardies at home only eat once or twice a week when they aren't bruminating and when they are, they only eat once or twice a month, sometimes less. Any advise would be appreciated. It seems like we may be hurting the animal more with all this possibly un-needed feeding and attention. Thanks.
