As far as Sperm Retention...
I have no idea about how long it can be..... I generally set up pairs and such and leave them be. I have literally no idea...
Sometimes the first babies are just regarded to us as normals in case of such a thing.... can't tell if they are hets....
Remember, this is all quite new and I have have many mysteries staring me in the face.
When you take the eggs away what have you noticed your adults doing? Have you noticed any animals that have completely stopped laying?
