Yeah, after Daytona, repticon doesn't have much to offer!

As for the space issue, you'll just have to see how he grows and he fits into what you have. It looks like a nice set up. If it's a male, he may need something bigger. If it's a smaller female and that's a 4 1/2 ft cage, it may be OK. My Colombian is not very active.

Taming...well, it takes some time with the Colombians, and just have to accept them for what they are. They are just a little more flighty than the Argentines, but you get out what you put into them. There's another member of those forums who keeps quite a few Colombians.

We got our Colombian when she was about 4 months old and we've had her for a few years. We started out by putting our worn T-shirts in her enclosure so she could have our scent around all the time. We would take her out of the enclosure to feed so she wouldn't ingest substrate and so handling was a good thing. But we never hand fed so we didn't have a food association issue. With daily handling, she calmed down.

Now, she is paper trained to poo outside of her cage. I don't know how that started, but it did. She'll walk around the house a bit, but gets scared of big spaces. She'll climb on you, but wants to be on your head, which I find annoying. She's a cutie, and huffs at us through her enclosure glass...Very unique character!
