OK, I know this is a green frog because of the calls he makes. But let me try to convey how big Crokus (his name) isThe tape is held about 3 inches from his head, and he is just a few cm under 7 inches sitting. He has come here for the third summer this year, took a mate the for first time, but he lost her to the garden snake pair that took residence in the pond as well. This frog lets me get so close to him, I have touched him on occasion. As long as I talk or make noise I can get close to him. And the lord as my witness, Crokus actually hopped out of the pond, up on the dock and was looking at me through the glass door that goes to my back yard. I did not feed the fish that night and I think he was upset! Anyway, this frog jumped over 30 feet in 2 hops. I measured it with my tape measure because that is the distance to the spot he landed and the door he "knocked" on. Someone tell me I dont have an alien frog here!! But I think he is truly something special. PIC!
