Our female chameleon has been showing signs og oviposition for about a week now. She began digging holes in big plant pts we provided and then abandoned them. In the end we ended up filling the whole of the bottom of her viv with damp peat and sand about 5-7 inches deep.

straight away she was down on the bottom digging her hole in the corner. we checked on her during the night her head is buried but she was still digging but we could hear she had got to the plastic at the bottom and could not dig any further but she continue trying to dig.

we popped a little infra red light above the area so she didnt become to exhausted during the night and popped a towel up on the front of the viv so she couldnt see us from the beginning. This morning shes just sat in he hole but stll has not laid her eggs. its been more than 24hours that shes been at this hole and not laying. There is another female in a seperte viv to the side of her could this beputting her off? They have not shown signs of stress being next to each other before.

We are just worried about whether shes going to lay at all now and worried that we are disturbing her. she in a quiet room with not other disturbances.
