if i were doing it, i'd just use some top soil w/ leaves scattered about and a few pieces of bark for hiding. temps, ideally mid -60s is what i'd go with. food: small crix, worms. lighting not necessary. salamanders thrive pretty well in captivity and can live for years. keep the substrate moist, not soaked. if possible, i keep all my sallies in the basement or coolest part of the house. thats my 2 cents ----- 2 tham radix
