>>When yous use coated wire mesh to make your iguanas cages ( i was looking at building a pvc cage) doesnt the heat lamp melt the coating? Is it ok to use regular hardware mesh? and advice on cages especially pvc cages? I plan on building one like this (http://www.geocities.com/RainForest/9008/pvccage.html) only bigger. any suggestions?

Living in WI, I use very little mesh at all except on top. I do use the coated wire mesh for the top screen where the light is, however my lights do not sit directly on the mesh. The coating protects toes when climbing from being cut or ripped off.
