pixie frog gone mad

I have a four year old male pixie who goes belligerent once in a while (every few months). He throws himself into the sides of his enclosure for hours and seems to be inconsolable no matter his food intake or any other factor I can think of. Anyone got an idea? Similar experience? Advice?
