When I visited Kenya I saw this animal on the wall of the ruins of a 16th century mosk, located on Manda Island in the Lamu archipelago. It is full of brown and black spots, which gave it a very nice protective coloring on the wall. The animal was approximately 25 cm in length. I would like to know what kind it is and in another forum someone told me it was a gecko for sure. Does anyone know what kind it exactly is? A photo of the animal can be found here:

Many thanks in advance!
Best regards, Marlies from The Netherlands
