It is 10:30 on the night before Thanksgiving. I turn the thermostat up a little since the temperature is only 30 degrees outside and falling fast. My wife and I start to get ready for bed, and I close one window blind in the room as my wife walks over to close the other one. I hear her scream and since she is 8.5 months pregnant and I start to panic. Then she starts laughing. I am totally confused and ready to grab the packed bag to rush her to the hospital expecting to receive a baby boy on Thanksgiving Day. As I get closer to her she points to something sitting on the window sill. It is a little green baby anole. She had reached to move a tv remote and the anole was under it. Her hand brushed against it as she slid the remote out of the way. We both think it is dead and as I get closer it opens it's eyes. I reach for it and it jumps onto the floor, but I finally catch it. She laughed again and thanked me for saving her from the dragon that had invaded our house.

I used a temp gun to check the temperature of the window sill. It was 64 degrees. I have seen them outside at all times of the year and have even had them come into my house before. I was still surprised to see this one so small and running when it was so cold.
