I use the 11 inch flexwatt for larger cages and place it under roughly the back third of the cage. For example, with my 8 foot by 3 foot cages, the 11 inch flexwatt runs under the rear one foot of the cage floor for the full 8 foot length. Gives them plenty of room to move off of it when they warm up.
