He seemed healthy and robust so I tried not to worry for the first month or so. The previous owner said he was eating frozen thawed small rats/adult mice. Once every 10 days I would spend about 20-25 minutes offering him a very warm frozen thawed rat or adult mouse on tongs. At first he seemed scared of it and would back away and once even laid in the floor of the cage. Then he seemed to be interested but never would take it. I tried moving it up and down and from side to side, offering it to him from underneath and tried dangling it over top of him and even tried standing still. I tried early mornings and late night after lights had been out for hours. One night I put a live mouse in the cage and he looked at it for a while then just perched back up and forgot it.
