I have one Adult female Candoia Aspera who think she's an aquatic snake. She will spend most of her time in the waterdish regardless of temperature or any other variable. When it came time to feed i'd lift her out of the waterdish with a hook and onto the moss in her cage. I don't know why I felt like that was important, probably because I never fed a snake who was in the water.

I decided to experiment today though. I just threw a pray item into the water and she started fixing on it big time. Never saw her alert like that before. It must have been that the prey was nervously treading water that really attracted her. She tagged it, took it down under the water and drowned it and constricted it and then came up and ate it. For some reason I thought she would be so dumb she'd drown or waterlog herself while eating. I dunno why I thought that though, she clearly is smart enough to not only use the water for hiding and soaking but also as a predatory hunting advantage.

I guess it makes sense though when you think about big boas and how they clearly have the advantage if they get in water. So much so that they could be incredibly dangerous to humans if they're encountered in the water. I guess the same is true for Viper Boa's. From now on i'll just feed her, her way.
