The folks at Reptile UV (makers of Mega-Ray) suggest two basking areas (where size allows). They suggest one with UVB and one without.

I'm not quite sure I understand this recommendation. I know their 100 watt and 160 watt bulbs produce UVB, so two questions come to mind:

1. What kind of bulb produces heat for basking but doesn't produce UVB?

2. And--what would be the point of a basking spot without UVB? Just for the heat?
