Ideally, I would like to always know the ambient temp, the warm side basking temp, and the cool side temp without having to open the cage to perform in ir reading. I suppose I could use anyone of a number of instruments that have a long probe, but it doesn't seem so practical nor accurate to have a bunch of these probes hanging down into these various spots.
