for the past several months my iguana, Dionysus, has had a very dry patch of skin behind his front leg. at first i figured he had just been a little too dry so i began to soak him more often but it didn't help. the patch of skin had then hardened solid and turned a sort of yellow color. i noticed a few black bumps underneath the skin but didn't know what they were. well the dried skin cracked open this morning and it revealed that the black spots under the skin were actually sores where the the skin almost looks like it rotted away. i would have took him to the vet when i first noticed the dry skin but i just don't have the money. please don't bash me for not having the money to take care of my iguana, i'm stressing enough as it is. i was wondering if anybody else has had any problem like this with their iguana and if they have what can you tell me, was it treatable, were you able to save your iguana, what type of treatment did the vet use. i have a very good vet that if i can tell her what the problem is over the phone she can tell me if it's a dire need to get him in to see her or if i would be able to just pick up some antibiotics and how much to give him. please i need an answer soon.
