Common names dont mean anything really. Its just a way to sell things. Some species can be called many many names like Gekko vittatus AKA white lined, skunk, skeleton gecko and so on. The only real way to know what species it is is the scientific names. They never get mixed up and you'll know what is being talked about. Like "vorax" in the classifieds. They are G. marginata, there is only one true pair of Gehyra vorax in this country and captivity but they wont stop calling them that.

If everyone used scientific names it would be much easier.
