>>I have just recently rescued a baby iguana that is suffering from multiple burn wounds on the stomach. She also has lost most of her tail and has wounds to the face. >>She is eating well and will let me hold her, with out running, most of the time. Would it hurt to hold her alot? If so, how much would be considered too much?
Honestly, I would get her into the vet. With open wounds there is always the chance of infection and in baby iguanas systemic infections prove to be deadly fast. Also if her tail loss is not properly healed that can become necrotic and require amputation.
As for the pain, think of how good it feels to a sore touched. Not too good. I would keep the animal in an extremely sterile environment and handle only to remove for cage cleaning. ----- Cindy PHFaust
