My White's is a little fat piggy and he still sleeps and hides most of the time. As long as your frog is eating on its own, it sounds like it's fine. The little guy is probably just getting used to the new and improved home it has and may be a bit stressed from the move. It should settle into the tank in a couple weeks and will start coming out at night.

Also, it may be a wild caught frog and could be afraid of people. I have a golden tree frog that is terrified of me getting anywhere near her, though she's graduated to not launching across the tank for cover when she sees me.
