You can BUY and OWN as many captive bred California native reptiles as you want. the ONLY issue is having Wild Caught specimens, you can ONLY keep a maximum of TWO and you shoud have a valid fishing license to be on the safe side for the two wild caughts (NOT saying you have any, just stating what CA Fish and Game told me personally)
ALSO keep ALL receipts from the STORE or BREEDER you buy Captive Bred California native Snakes/reptiles. For ANY person to sell legally Captive bred Cali Native reptiles they HAVE TO have a permit and HAVE TO put THEIR RA# on a numbered receipt. T?his EVEN goes for buying Native california Snakes/Reptiles from an outside of California Breeder, they either need to have a California Reptile Propogation Permit or NOT sell to California.
