I don't necessarily have a problem with a 140 degree basking area, but it might be a little much if that's the only area with UVB. If it's closer to 125 or 130 it would be better.
Your cool area needs to be at least 10 degrees cooler. The tank may not be large enough to support a basking area on each end.
What about moving both basking lights to one end - you'd likely need a different number or wattage of lamps. But you could still have the higher temp basking area (with UVB), a slightly lower temp basking area (without UVB) more or less right next to it, and still allow enough space for a good gradient through the rest of the cage. ----- Torey Eugene, Oregon, USA 1.1 Saharan Uros (Joe and Arthur) 3.0 Mali Uros (Spike, Turtle, and Tank) 1.1 Ornate Uros (Scuttlebutt and Shazzbot) 1.1 Collared Lizard (Ripcord and Rorschach) 2.0 Green Anoles (Bowser and Sprocket) 1.1 Chubby Housecats (Roscolux and Jenny)
