The date when I always expect to find common frogs, Rana temporaria, mating here in Ireland. I went for a stroll around the local national park and already there was spawn laid and masses of frogs in amplexus. The weather here last week was like Siberia and the thaw came only on Friday the 13th when the snow cleared but true to form the frogs made it on the 17th.Only three amphibians in Ireland, Rana temporaria, Bufo calamita and Triturus vulgaris [ Reply To This Message ] [ Subscribe to this Thread ] [ Hide Replies ]
