Hello all,

I adopted Junebug about 6 months ago. She was an elementary school classroom's pet turtle for, what I was able to gather, about 15 years. I wasn't told what kind of turtle she is, but she definitely isn't a red eared slider. (She is 7 inches long, by the way.)

The problem I am having is her enclosure. I've tried a bunch of different setups for her, and the one that seems to be working is shallow water (and some rocks for basking. She doesn't seem to SWIM! When the water was deeper, like all the other photos I've seen of an aquatic turtle, she merely walked along the bottom and poked her head out, then climbed to the rocks. Do I have some sort of not-quite aquatic turtle? I'd love some suggestions identifying her or simply advice on her enclosure.

She seems happy, and has laid 6 eggs in the last 2 months.

Thanks all,
Lisa
