So there's a reptile show coming up in a week and half in my area, and I'm thinking about getting a fat tailed gecko. I've been pondering this idea for a while, however mostly I was going to get him after my Cal King was too big for his 10 gallon. Well I was thinking about it a little bit today and I remembered that I have some sterilite under the bed storage containers. When I finally got home to check it out, though, they were way bigger than I remember.

How big is too big for a young Fat Tailed Gecko as far as enclosures go? I know that feeling safe is a big issue with young reptiles of all kinds, and I don't want my future pet to feel like it isn't safe in it's home.

The sterilite container most likely has these dimensions (I got these off their website and it seems to be about right) 34 3/4"L x 16 1/2"W x 6"H.

I think it'd be a really good container if I get an adult, however I'm just not sure about if I were to get a young one (Which is what I want to do because I'd love to raise it up from young if possible).

There's also a chance that I might find a smaller one around somewhere, if so I'll definitely use that to start off with.

What do you guys think about an enclosure of this type/size for a gecko?

Any feedback is appreciated greatly.
