I have 5 minutes left before I have to leave for work if I want to be able to have a stress free, unrushed trip. I can clean my kitchen, devastated by the massive salad big enough to feed an entire army. If I do that, I can come home from work, exhausted and just chill. Or, I can go pick flowers for the lizards. So, its either make my life easier or make them happy.

So I get out to the field and I start picking, and I pick, and I pick, and their precious little faces start to fill my mind, and their unheard but powerful voices fill my ears and they demand "MORE MORE MORE! Pick them ALL!" I now have 3 minutes left before I have to leave for work if I want to be able to have a stress free, unrushed trip, but there are are more flowers, and more, and they are so big and beautiful that even I think they look tasty, so I pick more. My bowl is full, and I have 2 minutes left, but the voices and the faces keep haunting me, and I pick.

I run back to the house with a big overflowing bowl of flowers with one minute left before I have to leave for work if I want to be able to have a stress free, unrushed trip, and I still have to dole out the salad topped with all of the flowers, and as I do, I can't help but stop and feed a few flowers to the baby girl chuck who isn't quite as fast as her brother, and can't help but stop and smile at how cute that Mauzi is with her puffy cheeks and her voracity when she snags those flowers!

So I am late getting off to work, and I have to rush, and I risk getting a ticket, and I am a few minutes late and have to start my lecture breathless, and flustered, and sweating.

So am I a slave? Well, I might be, but I'm a happy slave when I get home and see all their bellies fat and bowls clean, that is, until I walk in the kitchen!
