Southern Painted's stay pretty small and my sister had her's in a 55 gal until she put it outside in her pond. It was in the tank for over 5 years with no problem. They are very pretty too.
This is my Southern Painted following the bigger Eastern Painted in a 60 gal pond that I put out for the summer. You can't see her too good.
