Yeah, It really is hard to say for sure.
Even pure locality chucks are quite variable. Some are less distinct than others, and may resemble animals from a different population. Females can be especially hard to idintify. I have seen female carrot tails that look like some female granites, and some female granites that look like female red backs. When animals circulate within the pet trade, some information about their orign can be lost. This is one of the reasons Austin and I started including paperwork with our babies. Our hope is that if the lizards are sold again, the paperwork will go with them, so the new owner will have some background info on the chucks. Date of birth, type(locality), pictures of parents, etc.

Let us know if you find anything out about who the previous owners got them from. That may be the best way to find out.
Regardless, they look great, fat and happy.
