They are burrowers, so make sure you give them several inches of soil that they can completely bury themselves in. At one end, I just have a medium largish cave that they can hide in or bask on, and I have a lamp over the cave. They don't like it too hot, so the basking surface is around 90. Then you need a largish water bowl that they can get in to soak. Keep the soil moist in general, and a little more moist at the cool end.
